De multi-mode Gobi-inbouwoplossing is gebaseerd op de MDM1000™-chipset van Qualcomm en omvat bijbehorende software en API, en een referentieontwerp voor een softwarematig configureerbare datamodule die zowel 3G HSPA als EV-DO Rev. A ondersteunt.
Omdat de wereldwijde 3G-standaarden worden ondersteund, kunnen laptopfabrikanten producten met mondiale datacommunicatiemogelijkheden produceren, die een grotere efficiëntie en een vereenvoudigde gebruikerservaring bieden. De Gobi-oplossing omvat ook GPS-functionaliteit.

Option GT Ultra and Option GT Ultra Express Available for Use on AT&T’s 3G BroadbandConnect HSPA Network
SAN ANTONIO, USA – February 14 2008 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today two new LaptopConnect cards from Option, the GT Ultra and GT Ultra Express. The new cards deliver enhanced mobile broadband performance across two popular notebook computer formats, PC Card and ExpressCard. Both of these new devices operate seamlessly across AT&T’s 3G BroadbandConnect and EDGE networks.
The GT Ultra features a retractable antenna that is compatible in laptops with PC Card (Type II) slots. The GT Ultra Express is compatible with laptops that have Express Card (34 mm) slots and features a flip-up antenna for optimal broadband performance. It also automatically installs AT&T Communication Manager when first used with notebooks that have Microsoft® Windows Vista®, Windows XP and Windows 2000*. This provides a plug-and-play installation experience for most users and eliminates the need for an installation CD. Both cards are tri-band UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) and GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) compatible, making it easy to connect in more than 140 countries, including Japan and Korea.

The new Option cards enable laptop owners to quickly and easily send and receive e-mail and access the Internet on AT&T’s 3G High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) BroadbandConnect wireless network. This network provides enhanced 3G performance with typical download speeds between 600 Kbps and 1,400 Kbps and typical upload speeds between 500 Kbps and 800 Kbps. The faster download speeds provide an optimal wireless Internet-browsing experience, and the faster upload speeds will enhance users’ ability to send large files, such as e-mail with attachments, photos or business documents.
AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to deploy enhanced upload speeds through High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) in its HSPA network. HSPA is the latest generation of mobile broadband technology based upon the global standard for wireless — GSM. Users who travel outside of a 3G coverage area seamlessly fall back to the EDGE network, the largest national high speed wireless data network in the U.S.

De G101L van ECS, met daarin de Option-module GTM380, wint de Mobile Broadband Notebook Competition op het Mobile World Congress in Barcelona
BARCELONA, Spanje – 13 februari 2008 - Option (Euronext: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), de specialist op het vlak van draadloze communicatie, feliciteert Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) met haar succes in de door de GSM Association georganiseerde competitie voor notebooks met een draadloze breedbandverbinding.
De G101L notebook van ECS werd verkozen tot ‘Best Pre-Commercial Mobile Broadband Notebook’ in de door de GSMA georganiseerde Mobile Broadband Notebook competitie. De jury bestempelde dit toestel als een totaalpakket met veel mogelijkheden, in een compact en licht ontwerp, en dit tegen een betaalbare prijs, waarmee dit toestel sterk inspeelt op de behoeften van de consument. Het is in deze notebook dat de GTM380 draadloze module van Option zit ingebouwd.

BARCELONA, Spanje – 11 februari 2008 – Option (Euronext: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), de specialist op het vlak van draadloze communicatie, maakte vandaag bekend dat Telenor haar Unlimited Connection software geïntegreerd heeft in Mobilt Bredbånd, de mobiele breedbandservice van de Noorse operator.
Unlimited Connection is de naadloze mobiele-IP-overgangsoplossing van Option die ervoor zorgt dat laptops automatisch en probleemloos schakelen tussen mobiele breedbandnetwerken – hetzij geleverd via HSPA, UMTS of EDGE – en WiFi-hotspots of DSL om de klanten zo de hoogst mogelijke verbindingssnelheden te leveren.
Telenor implementeert de Unlimited Connection in de hele groep met de bedoeling de geavanceerde mobiele breedbanddienst die reeds in Noorwegen geïntroduceerd werd, beschikbaar te maken voor alle filialen wereldwijd. Er staan lanceringen op stapel in Zweden en Denemarken. In het tweede kwartaal van 2008 zal Telenor ook de iCON 225 USB-draadloze modem van Option toevoegen aan haar gamma Mobilt Bredband-toestellen.
Telenor lanceerde in juni 2007 mobiele breedband via 3G UMTS en schakelde in november over op 3,6 Mbps “Turbo 3G” HSDPA. Met de hulp van Unlimited Connection, integreert Mobilt Bredbånd nu HSPA, DSL en de uitgebreide WiFi-hotspotnetwerken van Telenor om een ongeëvenaarde gebruikerservaring aan te kunnen bieden.
De authenticatie langs verschillende toegangstechnologieën gebeurt automatisch door EAP-SIM, waardoor verschillende logins overbodig worden. De netwerkovergangen zijn naadloos en transparant voor elke applicatie die gebruikt wordt door de consument. Als er fysieke toegang beschikbaar is, kan Unlimited Connection ook via DSL verbinding maken.
Unlimited Connection is gebaseerd op de ‘simplexity’-filosofie van Option: software gebruiken om hoogwaardige technologie eenvoudig en toegankelijk te maken. Voor de gebruikers elimineren duidelijke en intuïtieve interfaces de netwerk- en technologische complexiteit om gemakkelijk ‘anytime, anywhere’ toegang te bieden tot informatie. De aanpasbare gebruikersinterfaces, talen, profielen en servicekenmerken stellen de operators in staat om gedifferentieerde producten en diensten aan te bieden.

In accordance with the requirements of the current legislation on the disclosure of major participations in issuers of which shares are admitted to trading on a ‘regulated market’, are any natural or legal person who, directly or indirectly, acquire or resign shares or other voting granting financial instruments of the company, whether or not they represent capital, compulsory by the law applicable at that time, are obliged to inform both the Company and the FSMA of the number of financial instruments owned as well as the percentage of existing voting rights whenever the voting rights are attached to these financial instruments reach a first time three percent (3%) and then five percent (5%) or a multiple of five percent (5%), exceed or fall below such percentage. The involved shareholders must comply with the statutory requirements and regulations in this regard.

LEUVEN, België – 18 februari 2008 - Option (Euronext: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), de specialist op het vlak van draadloze communicatie, heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat het door Qualcomm werd geselecteerd om totaaloplossingen te leveren op basis van het Gobi™ mobiel internetplatform van Qualcomm Incorporated voor laptops aan OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacters) wereldwijd.
De multi-mode Gobi-inbouwoplossing is gebaseerd op de MDM1000™-chipset van Qualcomm en omvat bijbehorende software en API, en een referentieontwerp voor een softwarematig configureerbare datamodule die zowel 3G HSPA als EV-DO Rev. A ondersteunt.
Omdat de wereldwijde 3G-standaarden worden ondersteund, kunnen laptopfabrikanten producten met mondiale datacommunicatiemogelijkheden produceren, die een grotere efficiëntie en een vereenvoudigde gebruikerservaring bieden. De Gobi-oplossing omvat ook GPS-functionaliteit.
“Door een ondersteuning voor wereldwijde mobiele standaarden te leveren, verenigen laptops uitgerust met Gobi de meest gebruikte draadloze netwerktechnologieën van mobiele operatoren wereldwijd om universeel mobiel internet te leveren”, verklaarde Mike Concannon, Vice-President Product Management Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.

Op basis van de ervaring die werd verworven door te werken met meer dan honderd klanten, operatoren en OEM’s over de hele wereld, zal Option de OEM’s helpen om te voldoen aan certificatievereisten en de modules aanpassen zodat ze beantwoorden aan de specificaties die tussen de OEM’s en hun operatorpartners in de lokale markten werden afgesproken.
“Het Gobi-platform voegt een nieuwe dimensie toe een van onze belangrijkste technologische partnerships en zorgt ervoor dat Option haar expertise en ervaring op het vlak van service en ondersteuning verder kan uitbouwen. De ondersteuning voor het Gobi-platform zal eveneens resulteren in inbouwmodules die Option voor het eerst toegang zullen verlenen tot EV-DO-markten. Gobi-oplossingen van Option zullen beschikbaar zijn in de tweede helft van 2008.

Option GT Ultra and Option GT Ultra Express Available for Use on AT&T’s 3G BroadbandConnect HSPA Network
SAN ANTONIO, USA – February 14 2008 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today two new LaptopConnect cards from Option, the GT Ultra and GT Ultra Express. The new cards deliver enhanced mobile broadband performance across two popular notebook computer formats, PC Card and ExpressCard. Both of these new devices operate seamlessly across AT&T’s 3G BroadbandConnect and EDGE networks.
The GT Ultra features a retractable antenna that is compatible in laptops with PC Card (Type II) slots. The GT Ultra Express is compatible with laptops that have Express Card (34 mm) slots and features a flip-up antenna for optimal broadband performance. It also automatically installs AT&T Communication Manager when first used with notebooks that have Microsoft® Windows Vista®, Windows XP and Windows 2000*. This provides a plug-and-play installation experience for most users and eliminates the need for an installation CD. Both cards are tri-band UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) and GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) compatible, making it easy to connect in more than 140 countries, including Japan and Korea.

This network provides enhanced 3G performance with typical download speeds between 600 Kbps and 1,400 Kbps and typical upload speeds between 500 Kbps and 800 Kbps. The faster download speeds provide an optimal wireless Internet-browsing experience, and the faster upload speeds will enhance users’ ability to send large files, such as e-mail with attachments, photos or business documents.
AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to deploy enhanced upload speeds through High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) in its HSPA network. HSPA is the latest generation of mobile broadband technology based upon the global standard for wireless — GSM. Users who travel outside of a 3G coverage area seamlessly fall back to the EDGE network, the largest national high speed wireless data network in the U.S.

op AT&T’s 3G BroadbandConnect HSPA-netwerk
SAN ANTONIO (USA) – 14 februari 2008 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) heeft vandaag twee nieuwe LaptopConnect-kaarten van Option voorgesteld: de GT Ultra en de GT Ultra Express. Deze nieuwe kaarten bieden een verbeterde connectiviteit voor mobiel breedband, gebruik makend van twee populaire standaarden van uitbreidingskaarten voor laptops, respectievelijk een PC Card en een ExpressCard. Allebei functioneren ze naadloos binnen de 3G BroadbandConnect en EDGE-netwerken van AT&T.
De GT Ultra heeft een inschuifbare antenne en is compatibel met draagbare computers met een PC Card-sleuf (type II). De GT Ultra Express is bestemd voor laptops die een Express Card-poort (34 mm) hebben en heeft een uitklapbare antenne voor een optimale breedbandperformantie. De kaart installeert bij het eerste gebruik ook automatisch AT&T Communication Manager, op laptops die Microsoft® Windows Vista®, Windows XP of Windows 2000* draaien. Daardoor is de installatie voor de meeste gebruikers zeer eenvoudig (plug & play) en is een installatie-cd overbodig. Beide pc-kaarten zijn tri-band UMTS/HSPA (850/1900/2100 MHz) en compatibel met GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), waardoor het gemakkelijk wordt om in meer dan 140 landen - Japan en Korea inbegrepen - online te gaan via AT&T.

ECS’ G101L notebook was named as the Best Pre-Commercial Mobile Broadband Notebook in this year’s GSMA Mobile Broadband Notebook competition. The judges cited its feature-rich package, its compact and light form factor, and its affordable price as matching consumer needs. The notebook incorporates the GTM380 wireless embedded module from Option.

OPTION ADDS UNLIMITED CONNECTION TO TELENOR’S MOBILE BROADBAND SERVICE

These backward-compatible quad-band EDGE devices are capable of delivering data rates of up to 274 kbps on existing 2G networks while allowing Russian’s travelling abroad to take full advantage of 3G or HSUPA where available.
Devices, packaging, application software and manuals are being customised to reflect VimpelCom’s Beeline brand and to meet local language needs.

BARCELONA, Spanje – 11 februari 2008 – Option (Euronext: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), de specialist op het vlak van draadloze communicatie, maakte vandaag bekend dat Telenor haar Unlimited Connection software geïntegreerd heeft in Mobilt Bredbånd, de mobiele breedbandservice van de Noorse operator.
Unlimited Connection is de naadloze mobiele-IP-overgangsoplossing van Option die ervoor zorgt dat laptops automatisch en probleemloos schakelen tussen mobiele breedbandnetwerken – hetzij geleverd via HSPA, UMTS of EDGE – en WiFi-hotspots of DSL om de klanten zo de hoogst mogelijke verbindingssnelheden te leveren.
Telenor implementeert de Unlimited Connection in de hele groep met de bedoeling de geavanceerde mobiele breedbanddienst die reeds in Noorwegen geïntroduceerd werd, beschikbaar te maken voor alle filialen wereldwijd. Er staan lanceringen op stapel in Zweden en Denemarken. In het tweede kwartaal van 2008 zal Telenor ook de iCON 225 USB-draadloze modem van Option toevoegen aan haar gamma Mobilt Bredband-toestellen.
Telenor lanceerde in juni 2007 mobiele breedband via 3G UMTS en schakelde in november over op 3,6 Mbps “Turbo 3G” HSDPA. Met de hulp van Unlimited Connection, integreert Mobilt Bredbånd nu HSPA, DSL en de uitgebreide WiFi-hotspotnetwerken van Telenor om een ongeëvenaarde gebruikerservaring aan te kunnen bieden.
De authenticatie langs verschillende toegangstechnologieën gebeurt automatisch door EAP-SIM, waardoor verschillende logins overbodig worden. De netwerkovergangen zijn naadloos en transparant voor elke applicatie die gebruikt wordt door de consument. Als er fysieke toegang beschikbaar is, kan Unlimited Connection ook via DSL verbinding maken.

The articles of association stipulate that the Board of Directors is composed of a minimum of three and a maximum of nine members, who are appointed by the general shareholders meeting for a maximum period of six years. The Board of Directors has to contain at least three independent directors.
The Board of Directors is currently composed of four members, namely: Eric Van Zele (Chairman of the Board of Directors), Raju Dandu, Martine Reynaers and Paul Matthijs.
Eric Van Zele
Mr. Eric Van Zele currently serves as Chairman of Reynaers Aluminium and Crescent NV. He was recently appointed chairman of the E17 network of hospitals and of the Hermes decision committee of The Flemish agency for Innovation and entrepreneurship. He continues to serve as a director of Barco NV. Prior to his current mandates Eric served as president and CEO of Barco NV in Kortrijk from 2009 thru 2016. He served as CEO of Pauwels International (from 2004 thru 2008) and of Telindus nv (2000 thru 2003). Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Raychem Corporation in Menlo park, CA, USA and as Managing Director of Raychem nv in Leuven, Belgium. (1972 thru 1999). He was nominated “Manager of the Year in 2012” and “ICT Personality of 2013”. Eric holds a masters degree in electrical and mechanical engineering from the KUL in Leuven (1972) and postgraduate degrees in management from Stanford University (1992 CA, USA).
Raju Dandu
Mr. Raju S. Dandu is the Founder-Chairman of Danlaw Inc. USA. He is also the Managing Director of Danlaw Technologies India Ltd. He is responsible for strategic planning and corporate management of both companies. Prior to founding Danlaw Inc., he held positions at the University of Iowa hospitals, Ford Motor Company, Dana Corporation and worked as an independent consultant at General Motors. He holds a bachelors’ degree in electronics engineering from Kakinada, India, a masters in electronics from University of Iowa and an MBA from University of Detroit.
Martine Reynaers
In 1980, Martine started her career as Financial Analyst of Technicon in Paris, a subsidiary of the
American Revlon Group.
In 1982, she was appointed Financial Manager of Wexal International Ltd, an aluminium extrusion
company in Enniscorthy, Ireland.
In 1983, she moved to the Reynaers headquarters in Belgium, where she took up the position of
Financial Manager. From 1986 onwards, Martine has been the Managing Director of Reynaers until
June 2021 when she will retire from this position and take on the role of Chair of the Board.
Paul Matthijs
Next to holding several non-executive advisory positions, Paul Matthijs is COO of Vlerick Business School. Prior to this, Paul Matthijs was CEO of Niko until 2019 and held several senior executive positions in R&D, product management and general management in the Medical Imaging and Entertainment division and the Retail and Advertising Venture of Barco. Mr. Matthijs' career at Barco spanned over 30 years. He holds a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering and an MBA from the Vlerick Business School.
