During seven years at Belgium's largest telecommunications company, Philippe held a series of senior strategic and operational roles all reporting to members of the Group's Executive Management Committee. Earlier in his career, he gained considerable financial management and IT experience in the shipping and petro-chemical industries.



Philippe earned his masters degree from the University of Ghent and also holds post-graduate qualifications from the Vlerick School of Management and INSEAD. In his leisure time, Philippe is a keen yachtsman who represented Belgium on an international level. He combines his organizational skills with his passion for sport as a board member of the Belgian National Olympic Committee.



Philippe will formally join Option in January 2009 and will report directly to the CEO. He will oversee Sales, Operations and Marketing and will assume overall responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of Option's value proposition to the wireless markets.

Developed with Vodafone and targeted at both the tech savvy consumer and enterprise markets, the Vodafone K3760 USB Stick will launch in a number of European countries this year. The device will be available for other Vodafone operators and partner networks during 2009.

Measuring just 74.8 x 26 x 12 mm and weighing around 22g, the new device is Option’s smallest and lightest USB product to date. The compact and aesthetic device incorporates a revolutionary new sliding mechanism to protect the USB connector.

A micro SD Card slot adds to the device’s versatility, enabling users to store and secure up to 8GB of personal data (depending on the capacity of the micro SD card).

LEUVEN, België – 4 november 2008 – Option N.V. (EURONEXT Brussel: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), de specialist op het vlak van draadloze communicatie, kondigde vandaag aan dat het gestart is met de leveringen van een nieuwe, hoogperformante draadloze USB-modem met micro SD-geheugenkaart naar Vodafone.

De Vodafone Mobile K3760 USB stick, ontwikkeld met Vodafone en bedoeld voor zowel technologisch gevorderde consumenten als voor de bedrijfswereld, wordt dit jaar nog in een aantal Europese landen commercieel gelanceerd. Voor andere operatoren binnen Vodafone en haar partnernetwerk zal het toestel in de loop van 2009 beschikbaar zijn.

Met zijn bijzonder compacte afmetingen van 74,8 x 26 x 12 mm en ongeveer 22 g is het nieuwe product momenteel het kleinste en lichtste USB-product van Option. Het compacte en stijlvolle toestel bevat een revolutionair nieuw schuifmechanisme om de USB-connector te beschermen.

Het product is uitgerust met de 7225 chipset van Qualcomm en biedt via de unieke tri-band feature wereldwijde toegang tot mobiele breedband (HSPA) netwerken. Het kan downloadtopsnelheden bereiken tot 7,2 Mbps, gecombineerd met uploadsnelheden tot 5,76 Mbps, afhankelijk van de mogelijkheden van het netwerk. Het veelzijdige toestel beschikt bovendien over een micro SD-geheugenkaart, waardoor de gebruiker tot 8GB persoonlijke gegevens kan opslaan en beveiligen (afhankelijk van de capaciteit van de micro SD-geheugenkaart).
