Deze specieke toepassing wordt nu naadloos geïntegreerd in Option’s uCAN Connect software platform.

Deze benadering geeft een antwoord op het probleem van de operator door middel van een optimalisatie van de totale beschikbare bandbreedte en dit zonder enige tussenkomst van de gebruiker. De operator heeft ook de mogelijkheid om op een gecontroleerde manier het verkeer van een gelicensieerd naar een niet-gelicensieerd spectrum over te hevelen.

Voor de eindgebruiker betekent dit dat ‘bandwidth management’ garant staat voor een uitstekende multimedia-ervaring dankzij de gelijktijdige transmissie over twee of meer gecombineerde internetverbindingen. In geval van overbelasting of een mindere signaalkwaliteit van het gekozen netwerk, zorgt deze oplossing voor de best mogelijke verbinding op basis van de netwerkomstandigheden.

Deze oplossing zal ook beschikbaar zijn als apart product op het uCAN Connect software platform. Nadien wordt de technologie ook uitgebreid naar andere soorten producten met breedbandverbinding. Jan Smits started his career at Coopers & Lybrand and Van Ussel Bedrijfsrevisoren. He also held accounting and finance management positions at Pluma and Massive. In 1990 he became CFO of Punch International in Belgium. After 15 years he became CFO and member of the Board of Punch Graphix in London via the IPO of the company on the London Stock Exchange (Aim). As of April 2007 he built and managed the factory of Punch Powertrain in Nanjing, China. As from 2010 he was consulting companies on corporate finance matters.

JP Ziegler joined Option in 2008 at a time when the Company was further expanding into the wireless industry. Since 2009 Option has gone through an industrial repositioning and downsizing to focus on a selected number of key markets in the wireless industry. With the new profile of the Company, Mr. Ziegler and Option agreed that the Company has different requirements at this time.

Superdunne 3G LGA-module maakt breedband en wereldwijde connectiviteit mogelijk voor een nieuwe klasse van geconnecteerde toestellen

• Een LGA (Land Grid Array) wat een erg dun ontwerp oplevert – 26,8 mm x 31,8 mm, en amper 2 mm dik – en een uitstekende warmtedissipatie, met als resultaat de mogelijkheid van 3G-connectiviteit in superdunne designs zonder dat dit ten koste gaat van de mogelijke features of de robuustheid.
• Wereldwijd inzetbaar – ondersteuning voor GSM/HSPA en CDMA/EV-DO op ‘s werelds meest gebruikte frequentiebanden, voor gegarandeerde 3G-snelheden en 2G/2.5G-verbindingen bij gebruik waar ook ter wereld.
• Betrouwbare gps- en GLONASS-ondersteuning voor toepassingen die wereldwijde locatiebepaling vereisen. Zo kan een koeriersbedrijf met de GTM601/GTM609 de locatie van zijn vrachtwagens en team voortdurend opvolgen. Dankzij deze locatiebepaling, met automatische plaats- en tijdmelding, kunnen bedrijven de pakjes nauwkeurig volgen en de volgende klanten sms’en dat de pakjes dadelijk aan de beurt komen.
• Echte circuitgeschakelde spraakdienst via GSM en CDMA voor betrouwbaar spraakverkeer van topkwaliteit voor toestellen zoals smartphones, interactieve digitale signalisatie en reclamezuilen, en medische toestellen voor thuis.

Bij de GTM601/GTM609-modules zijn de toonaangevende technische expertise en klantenservice van Option inbegrepen. Hierdoor krijgen bedrijven die hardware producten verkopen maar geen ervaring hebben met mobiele toestellen de mogelijkheid om draadloze oplossingen snel en kostefficiënt op de markt te brengen, zonder de kosten, het risico en de tijd die gepaard gaan met het inzetten van extra personeel, apparatuur en andere middelen die cruciaal zijn als je nieuwe draadloze oplossingen wil ontwikkelen.

Onlangs gebruikte Lumigon, een Scandinavische fabrikant van geavanceerde smartphones, de GTM601-module om op amper drie maanden de T1, een luxueuze smartphone met Android, te ontwikkelen. “Door voor Option te kiezen, vonden we niet alleen een unieke draadloze oplossing voor onze smartphone T1.
