Option to supply Acer with Embedded Wireless Module

Leuven – Belgium, January 30, 2006 – Following the announcement of the GTM351E embedded wireless module on December 29 2005, Option N.V. (Euronext: OPTI, OTC: OPNVY), the wireless technology company, confirms that it has signed a supply agreement with Acer Inc., with headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan and Europe’s leading notebook vendor. Shipments of the GTM351E are planned to support the commercial roll-out of a new range of wireless enabled notebook products from Acer.

According to IDC (Personal Computing in Western Europe, Forecast and Analysis update, 2005 – 2009 – December 2005), Acer is the leading notebook vendor within EMEA with a market share of 18.6 %. IDC further comments that within the notebook market “Acer maintained leadership – for the fifth consecutive quarter due to the successful deployment of a very aggressive expansion strategy across the continent.”

The Option GTM351E embedded wireless module is the ideal solution for an IT manufacturer embedding broadband Wide Area wireless connectivity into laptop, portable, and mobile devices. The GTM351E provides HSDPA 1.8 Mbps, UMTS WCDMA in the 2100 MHz band and EDGE/GPRS in four bands (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), thereby ensuring worldwide network compatibility bringing embedded broadband wireless Internet connectivity to mobile devices.
